چکیده
We present one of the first cosmic ray muon flux-angle variation experiments on QuarkNet Cosmic Ray Detector (QNCRD). describe QNCRD and its calibration. The main focus is then quantifying flux decrease as a function angle from zenith. counters were incremented 15 degrees average every $3.1$ days over range 0 to 90 for period approximately month. Results showed that detector increased zenith, decreased, which agrees with previous studies. An estimate based model $I(\theta)=I_0cos(\theta)^n$ had an exponent value $n=1.39 \pm 0.01$ $\theta < 75$ degrees, underestimate values in other literature. These findings provided reasonable, although not entirely accurate, $n$ considering duration study sensitivity instrument. Our results constrain accuracy provide source future long-term experiments. This also demonstrates feasibility conducting science high school classrooms, increasing accessibility.

15 صفحه اولDeadlines and distractions
We consider a task, demanding a sequence of efforts, that must be completed by a deadline. Effort is not contractible. Agents face shocks to their opportunity cost of time and are sometimes distracted from work. We show that agents who are often distracted may outperform agents who are distracted less often. The reason is that anticipation of distractions induces agents to start earlier for pre...
متن کاملReputational bargaining and deadlines
I introduce irrational types, who are committed to their demands, into a bargaining model with an uncertain deadline for agreement. Rational agents imitate these demands, hoping to benefit from a “tough” reputation. When irrational types are committed to fixed demands and agents are patient, this provides an explanation for “deadline effects” in bargaining: agreement is “U-shaped”, occurring ei...
متن کاملReputational bargaining and deadlines
How will agents behave when bargaining in the face of an upcoming deadline? If irrational types exist, committed to their bargaining positions, rational agents will imitate this tough behavior to gain reputational benefits, even though this may result in the deadline being missed. Notably, if agents are patient and irrational types are committed to fixed demands then agreement must necessarily ...
متن کاملCollective Imperatives and Deadlines
Our focus is on the specification and verification of normative systems that include contrary-to-duty, collective and event-driven imperatives with deadlines. We propose an operational syntax and semantics for the specification of such systems. Using Maude and its model checker, we show how Linear Temporal Logic properties can be verified, and provide some experimental results.
